Some days ago in my latvian blog I started to create special feedburner RSS feeds for categories. Because I saw that readers are getting disappointed when they receive: like personal information mixed with, so called, Pro .2 where I’m posting my special posts. And Already after first day I saw that I have some 6 readers for that category. Nice! In end of February I’ll write some statistic data about changing blog platform from blogspot to wordpress.

project "artVlog" (2008)

I was already writing in latvian blog, that I’m starting new video and art project “artVlog” (2008) in Latvia. My plan is to make series of videos about cultural events in Latvia and Lithuania (maybe Estonia, Poland and France as well). It’s actually vlog. Review of events with youth as central spot.
Right now after one week I restart to write it, because I need to finish it until January 25 for Municipality of Riga (Culture dept.) and maybe I’ll apply for “Youth in action” on 1st February.
What else… right now building up team for project.
Because of project, today I started to learn video editing softs (started with Adobe Premier Pro). Wish me luck!
In future I’ll write about development of project as well…

Social activism! NGO and blogging in Latvia

To be social active!
With all internet development in Latvia, some days ago I trough about meaning of “social activism“. If it would be connected with internet, we could say it means to post comments on blogs and about happenings around (expl., in news). It become more easier when You have Your own blog (in Latvia, for example, free blog service on nee.lv). In that case people can spread their attitude and/or opinion. It can be done alone or cooperating, expl., get involved in some non-governmental organization (NGO), like creative group MYSTYLe art (MART, M-art) :P or some other. In Internet it`s like separated community. There is fewer Internet accessibility, but activities are more cruel about information, because Internet let You save anonymity (Yeah, right!), but out-of-internet, people have to identify yourself with your own words.I have very often answer on questions like “Why You are in this (MYSTYLe art) organization” or any other non-profit project. Answer is simple: I like what I’m doing. NGO’s are using blog(~s) as a tool and communication channel in the same time.I’m so happy, when I see that some organization is usig blog as report of activity. Right now in my RSS reader are some feeds from other organizations blog posts. Currently it’s just official information, which appeare as copy-paste of press releases or description of projects (summary or full). Hope, that in near future I’ll coax MYSTYLe art to write in blog style :P It’s in process for now (like out web). From other latvian NGO’s I liked JASMA activities in LiveJournal.com, where they have blog. Of course, it’s as well lil’bit formal, but at least looks more sprightly.
Another project with youth participation is “jaunieši vēro” (youth is watching), where they have blog on Blogger.com. For me it look like journal more, than blog (*?). Content, at least for me, is lil’bit boring, because it’s oriented to regional youth and local municipality, where yout are watching how they are working. But posts are more alive and emotional as others which I have saw.In posts youngsters are writing from what deputy were eating in lunch till evaluation of pappier work. Something similar had LJP with Saeima (Parliament ) where young people, most under 21, were judged speech of MP’s.

PS This is not direct translation of my post in latvian. This short version adapted for English blog.

Festival.
So I came to festival…
Near the ticket selling/exchange place I met Laura. Actually she found me :)
So as she was managing all my ticket buying in lithuanian (!) internet forums, she asked me my printed ticket. I started to look for it… still looking in all possible pockets.
NOTHING!
Thanks God that Danile, talked with oragizers and they trought cell-phone(!!!) get my ticket, which I had uploaded in my home`s pc.
Long minutes of downlading…
And they got and I get in! Thanks to organizers for understanding.
We went with Laura build up my tent. I took some bottle of Sobieski and went to festival…

Be2gether (Pt. #3)

It all started with chat in skype (funny, nah?!) when I was chatin` with Laura. We were chatting about this and that… and about project “2015.lv” as well, where team of “2015.lv” were going to latvian festivals, to promote MDGs. And about that I don’t have time for traveling (read: hitch-hiking), because of new work and so on…
So once she said, that I could come to Lithuania to an festival. Why not?!
So I did!
On last Wednesday asked to her to buy me ticket… So I just needed to print it out and that’s it! (Well not realy!)
Friday, August 24 (2007)
Coming to my work to print ticket (!!! 3 copies !!!) lil’bit work and about 15:00 leaving center to go to Ķekava‘s ring and started about 16:00 to hitch-hike. Some 20 minutes of waiting, till stopped one old Audi (? 100) and we were flying (~min speed about 140 kmph) to Lithuania.
Flying! Anyway…

Next stop Kaunas gas station.
~5min of waiting for next car and I’m back on road to Vilnius. Near Vilnius had (not so) funny happening, but however there was on the road (too) drunk young man, who was in middle of highway to get lighter for cigarette.

I didn’t even put my bag on the ground when stopped next car to … FESTIVAL! Well actually almost all cars were going to festival on this road…
